[Daytona Beach, FL] When the Daytona Cubs (7-5) host the Vero Beach Devil Rays (3-8) on Wednesday, April 18 at 7:05 p.m. pitcher Jeff Samardzija (0-0) will make his first start on "The World's Most Famous Beach."

Jeff Samardzija comes into Wednesday's game with no record after two road starts in Brevard County and Vero Beach. Jeff Samardzija has an ERA of 2.70 after going five innings in each of his first two starts this season. The highly anticipated start comes one day later than originally projected after a rainout in Vero Beach last week.

Daytona has won three games in a row heading into the Wednesday series finale against the Devil Rays. At the time of this release the Cubs held a share of first-place in the Florida State League East with the St. Lucie Mets.
